I am a mom and an ordained lay member of the Plum Village Mindfulness Tradition. I’ve been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1999. I specialize in women’s health and stress-related disorders in my 25-year career in East Asian Medicine and Healing Arts. I know how to guide women on their healing journey, connecting the body-mind-spirit and utilizing the power of mindfulness.
I know the advantages (and the struggles) of having a regular meditation practice while having kids around, being pulled in many directions, dealing with life stresses, raising babies during a pandemic, and feeling exhausted at the end of the day.

Is this a meditation/mindfulness class?
Not exactly. This course helps you set up your meditation practice at home. However, you will find helpful tips and gain clarity about what meditation and mindfulness are and how to integrate them into your life. If you want to take a mindfulness meditation class with Be True Peace, you can save your spot here:
Do I need a cushion for meditating?
Many people prefer sitting in a firm chair (like a dining chair) for their meditation and this is a great choice. If you already have a cushion and you like it, that is fantastic. We will go over different sitting positions and use props that you will already have in your home. If you prefer sitting on the floor and feel committed, a cushion or bench may be helpful to support your dedication to your meditation practice.
How long will I have access to the class?
You will have 3 months access to the course materials upon payment. It only takes 8 days (or less if you feel ambitious) to set up your home practice. You may rewatch the course material as often as you like for 3 months. Downloaded digital materials are yours for the keeping, forever.
Is this course only for Moms?
Yes. This is an affinity group. Women who are moms have a shared experience regarding motherhood, which reflects in their bodies, hormones, and gender experiences. The ups and downs, the details, the stories might look different. But there is a commonality, a sisterhood that is worth building a strong connection around. The program offers opportunities to share one’s experience in the class, so keeping the group to this affinity also creates a zone of safety regarding the commonality of motherhood. BTP has no intention to discriminate. If you are interested in a similar course but you are not a mom, let us know so we can consider creating another group for your affinity.
Who should not take this course?
If you are experiencing severe mental illness, trauma, or you do not feel safe at home, this course may not be for you. BTP offers trauma-sensitive meditation, however if you are in crisis, please seek the assistance of a therapist or crisis center for support.
